One thing you’ll find out about me at first meeting is that the “H” is silent. Don’t ask me why, I didn’t name myself. Jon-uh would be a more appropriate fit for the pronunciation I prefer. I guess it all started with my name; things had to be different. Curiosities have always driven me into finding true passions. My first introduction into the career world began as a self-taught graphic artist. For 2 years I worked in house as a dedicated graphic artist at a company of over 100 employees. I loved my time there and discovered a knack for photography after buying my first DSLR. I shot old 35mm film growing up, mostly of the palm trees and the garden in my back yard. After working for a local news station in a graphics/audio, my brother and I decided to open a clothing store in 2006. Ever since then we’ve been the dangerous duo of brothers in biz, most commonly refereed by our street name “The Brothers”. We’re currently co-owners of “The Laundry Room” a men’s and women’s casual clothing boutique. While applying my graphics & photography skills to our companies’ marketing materials, my work had great exposure and demand for hired photography began. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting as an assistant with the ever-so-talented Danielle McIntee aka “Dani Mac” and assisting in lighting with the impressive Ryan C Jones. I strive to keep a relaxed and natural shooting style. My mind never stops when I’m looking through the lens and I enjoy the soothing flow of thought when composing an image. My main purpose when I shoot is to create something personal to the subject and reflect their emotion. I’m honored when chosen to be responsible for recording a subject because they are memories that they are trusting you with.
